This project was so much fun, I knew I had to share it with you guys! I’ve been seeing bejeweled denim the last year or so and I thought it might be fun to try on my own!
All you need is a pair of jeans, lots of flat backed jewels and Aleene’s Fabric Fusion adhesive. I also recommend finding a reference image. It’s a lot easier to create if you have some sort of idea how you want the end product to look.
First step is to lay out the jewels on your jeans. NO GLUE YET! This works best if you can find a flat surface to lay your jeans completely flat.
Once you get the jewels placed in the pattern you like you can then begin to glue them down. Pick up one piece at a time, put a good amount of glue on the back/flat side of the jewel and then press it back into the denim where you picked it up. Or you can apply the glue directly to the denim after you pick up the jewel and then press the jewel into to glue on the denim. That last method seemed to work better for me with the smaller sized jewels.
Once you have all your jewels glued down all you have to do is wait 🙂 You should let everything dry for at least 4-5 hours before you try to wear the jeans. And when you wash them make sure to turn them inside out and do not use fabric softener.
