Living Room 2

Woohooo! It’s FRIDAY!!! 🙂 I don’t know about y’all, but I get super excited for my weekends this time of year because that’s when I start spring cleaning, reorganizing & redecorating! I know the actual work behind all of that isn’t fun, but the super refreshing feeling when I’m all done really makes me happy.

With all of this spring cleaning and organizing it got me thinking about finishing up some decoding in our house. You can’t do every room all at once, but the most important one to me right now is our living room. That’s where we spend 99% of our time and the one room everyone sees when they come to the house. It’s really the first impression of our home as soon as you walk in the door. I am really proud of what we’ve done in this space so far, but it’s time to add those finishing touches to take it to the next level.

I’m just now in the beginning stages of this project so I thought it would be fun to share with you all my process for interior decorating.

First I take pictures of the space.. Then I search the web for inspiration.  Obviously I spend a lot of time on Pinterest for that 🙂

Then, once I decide on what I want to do for the space I start sketching over my images. It helps me visualize the final look.

What I’ve decided I want to do for our living room is add a photo gallery wall and bookshelves on both sides of the fireplace. Below are my inspiration images and sketches.

So far that’s as far as I’ve gotten! But I’ll be sure to let you guys know once I take it to the next step! Hope this gives you a little inspiration on what you could do to put the finishing touches in your own home!

Your home is absolutely beautiful! Since My Brother moved out of my house and into his own apartment, there is absolutely nothing in my living room except for my work tables. Going to Ikea doesn’t help my vision, but Pinterest certainly does. I can’t wait to see your visions and doodles coming to life!

Thank you so much! It’s definitely a process. We’ve been slowly decorating for about 3 years now! I’m sure your home will come together too 😊

I hope so. I’m going to make it complicating; but it’s unintentional. I love the elegant look, but it might come off as a surprise to visitors because they would have no idea that I actually enjoy that kind of look. But in my studio, I want the feel of a music studio. Two different worlds under one roof. It’s exciting but I know it’s going to be a challenge. What you’ve done to your place in the past 3 years is just amazing! Very welcoming and just full of inspiration! Thanks for sharing with us!
